Ruth Hogan is a contemporary practitioner of the white-line-woodblock or Provincetown-Print technique. Ruth Hogan was born in 1943 and raised in Texas. Her great-aunt was one of the original Provincetown Printmakers, Elizabeth Howland Caliga. The difficult printmaking technique dates from the World War I era and was the first woodblock-printmaking technique unique to America.
