August N. “Red” Mead of Vevay, Indiana, was a printer and typesetter. He worked for Vevay Newspapers, Inc., and the Madison Courier in Madison, Indiana. Among his prints are The Old Ferry (Filson Historical Society collection) and the current booklet of Vevay scenes. His block-print work dates from the 1930s through the 1970s.
