Joseph Anthony Seifrit was a landscape painter and decorator working in Louisville, Kentucky, in the years before the First World War through the early 1920s. He painted scenes of Louisville’s parks, especially Shawnee and Iroquois, and views along the Ohio River. He worked in watercolor and oil. There is some conflict in the public records, with the artist having been born in Louisville and in Indiana, and his name given as Seifritz. He has relatives in Indiana, and they give the name as Seifrit. The artist is buried in St. Louis Cemetery in Louisville.
