Rose Mary Stubbs (1929-1990)

Rose Mary Dawkins Stubbs was a native of O’Brien, Texas, who enjoyed an art career in  Arizona. Described as basically self-taught, she showed at the Knox-Campbell and Settlers West galleries in Tucson. Her work was exhibited in group shows with such well-known Western artists as Helen Caswell, Hans Luetcke, Dan Bodelson, Robert Elsocht, Buck McCain, James Rome and Ken Wilson. She had “a fairly devout following based largely in Tucson,” according to one gallery owner who knew her. Her first name is often given as Rosemary.
